Kawondera disappointed

FC Platinum star Ralph Kawondera is disappointed after it emerged that he will not play against his former club Triangle tomorrow as he failed to recover from varicella ‘chicken pox’.

The platinum miners are playing sugar boys at Mandava tomorrow at 3pm.

Kawondera’s fate was decided after he went for a review with the medical team. He described it as an unfortunate turn of results as he was longing to rub shoulders with old friends.

“I was itching to play, and playing against your former team is something we idolize as footballers. It is not that I had a point to prove but the feeling of reunion is just amazing.

“I would have loved to play but we cannot escape from reality. It was my wish to rub salt on their wounds but I guess I will wait for another day. FC Platinum is not a one-man team, we play as a family and I believe and trust in those who are going to represent us on weekend,” he said.

He, however, emphasized the importance of getting maximum points and alarmed his teammates to stay woke insisting that Triangle United have done their homework after losing to Ngezi 3-1.

“Taurai Mangwiro has won this tournament with Triangle before. He knows   motivational words to divulge to his troops. Obviously they have their eyes on the trophy. The match is going to be interesting, it is a clash of giants and getting all the points is our priority.

“It is still possible to play them in the later stages of the tournament depending on how far they are preparing to go. Meeting them in the final will be even sweeter,” said Kawondera
