Pictures Of Uzalo’s Mamlambo Gugu Gumede With Late Look-Alike Mom Shock Fans
Uzalo’s star, Gugu Gumede is currently on leave from SABC 1 daily drama Uzalo to mourn her mom who passed away a few weeks ago.
Her mom, Zanele-Magwaza Msibi, leader of the National Freedom Party (NFP) and former deputy minister of Science and Technology died at the age of 59 after suffering from stroke since 2014.
Her death brought to light a lot that wasn’t known by the Uzalo star’s fans.
What many people did not know is that Gugu comes from a well pedigreed and prominent family as her parents are actually former freedom fighters who were involved in the fight against the apartheid regime.
Like her recently deceased mother, her father Inkosi Simon Hulumeni Gumede was a member of the Inkatha Freedom Party and served as a member of the KwaZulu-Natal legislature before his death in 2007.
After these revelations, fans are still shocked at the striking similarities between Gugu and her mother – especially after she posted a few snaps in memory of her mother on Instagram.
They couldn’t stop but point out their uncanny resemblance.

Speaking about her look-alike mom under the shared pictures, Gugu described her as a loving and strong woman she had ever seen.
“My mother was a giant. A king. She came from nothing and had the task of breaking many generational curses; blessing many family members in between. She was a dedicated public servant; a pioneer and activist who changed many people’s lives. To my brother and I, though, she was Mommy. My BEST FRIEND. My confidant. My greatest fan. My prayer warrior,” she said.
