Zodwa Wabantu confirms split with DJ Tira’s music label, Afrotainment
Raunchy dancer Zodwa Wabantu has parted ways with DJ Tira’s music label, Afrotainment. The socialite told Daily Sun that the move was inspired by her will to be independent.
She told the people’s paper:
Tira is a businessman and I’m a businesswoman. And I couldn’t work under a person anymore. I had to make a decision, a business decision. Many artists from Durban are limiting themselves. They are popular in Durban. I didn’t want to be like that. I wanted to spread my wings and build my brand.”
The star also stated that her hands are full with her businesses at the moment and that she is doing well as an independent artist.
“You know some people feel comfortable when they work for other people. I am not like that. I want to do things on my terms.
I have a reality show, my egg business is growing and I get booking without working for someone. I can say that I’m doing well. If Tira robbed me of money or something, I would’ve asked. If he exploited me or we had any fight, I would’ve spoken out. But he was good to me, but I wanted to do things on my own.”
The reality star revealed that she dropped Tira’s label last year and thanked the company for giving her exposure.
Tira also wished the entertainer well and told the people’s paper that Zodwa is extremely talented.
Zodwa expands her businesses
Zodwa Wabantu trended last month when she revealed on her Instagram account that she has registered a mortuary business titled Zodwa Wabantu Undertakers Mortuary.
The Moja Love reality star told her followers on Instagram that she won’t stop expanding her businesses and that she’ll keep expanding her business empires and keep going even if she fails.
